Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust

GHCT churches tally reaches 638! Are we missing any?

How many churches fall under the remit of the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust? We’ve always said: ‘around 600’ – but it’s clear we weren’t counting hard enough!

We now have an impressive 638 churches on our Ride+Stride event map, across our area which covers Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and North Bristol. That means it’s easier than ever to plan a route for September 9 – particularly if you’re keen to visit lots of churches.

Our event maps show the location of all 638 churches, as well as giving information about facilities, and whether you’ll find a welcome party at the church.
Some of the newest additions to the map include Morton Baptist Church in South Gloucestershire.

Morton Baptist Church is now on our map

Other churches new on the map include historic St Adeline in Little Sodbury, which lies on the Cotswold Way and is closely associated with William Tyndale.

Southgate Evangelical Church in Gloucester and the John Wesley Chapel in Bristol demonstrate the breadth of both the denominations and geographical area we cover – there really is something for everyone!

For more information on Ride+Stride, or to let us know about a church in this area we’ve not yet put on the map, contact our Ride+Stride organiser.

Looking forward to seeing you on September 9.
