Join our AGM & Ride+Stride Social this Wednesday

We’re counting down the days until the official launch of Ride+Stride 2017, following our AGM this week. All our supporters and particularly Local Organisers are invited to this social event in Dursley on Wednesday 7 June at 6pm.

For more details please read our Annual Report for 2016 which is available to download now.

GHCT’s AGM will take place first in Dursley Methodist Church. We were pleased to award this church a grant of £2000 in December to help fund redecoration following repairs. After the brief meeting there will be a chance to look around the church, before moving across the road to St James the Great, Dursley for the Ride+Stride Social. GHCT has contributed £10,000 towards the tower repair project here and there’s lots to see.

We’ll have drinks and nibbles available, and this is your chance to pick up an event pack from Glenn, the County Organiser, and to meet others involved with Ride+Stride which is taking place on Saturday 9 September.

New for 2017
• Promote Ride+Stride at your church and encourage new visitors on the day with an event banner to hang on the fence/wall/gate. This will be usable year after year, and GHCT will be subsidising the cost.

• Event map with suggested routes – our map features every church in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and North Bristol, and will be regularly updated to help you plan a route between churches that are open on the day. Those offering tea and biscuits will also be highlighted!

• Is riding or striding proving a challenge? Whilst we’d encourage those who can to get out under their own steam, we realise this isn’t ideal for everyone. Why not get together with a group to fill a car and travel between churches that way? You’ll still be eligible for a prize.

We’re still looking for Local organisers for some churches – if yours is on this list why not come along and find out more about getting involved? There’s a small amount of admin involved and you could be part of a fun day helping raise funds for a good cause.

To help us plan the event please email Glenn to let him know you’re coming. We look forward to seeing you on 7 June.
