This page identifies the new or recent ideas that we are working on to get established as part of Ride+Stride. It may provide ideas for people looking to take Ride+Stride in a new direction in their area, to give it a new lease of life, help advertise the event and make it appealing to more people perhaps.
Our major Ride+Stride advertising campaign in 2017 is the introduction of A1 foamex boards and 6′ banners to invite participants to take part in the event. The banners and boards are reusable and all the information you need is on the “Banners and Boards” page via the link above.
As we work towards increasing the participation in our Ride+Stride, we hope that some of our participants might like to plan in a lunchtime stop at a pre-arranged meeting point and meet other participants? If you can suggest a good local place to meet (ideally with facilities nearby and maybe a pub that might be prepared to support us financially for a mention on our website), we would like to know about it. See the meeting point link above.
All around our region, participants are engaging in walking or cycling or driving activities on their own using their own routes. This is fine but there is no reason why participants cannot join up with others in other regions and cycle or walk together whilst still raising money for their own church. If a church wants to advertise one or more of its activities as open for others to join in then it can. If a participant fancies joining others then they can look for a nearby organised event. See the link above.
An excellent new idea in which a church arranges for one or more vehicles to take members of the congregation out on a mystery tour visiting a few churches on a secretly planned route! All the people in the vehicle(s) are participants who can get sponsors for your church and the whole thing can be completed in a couple of hours! See the link above for more.
Being sponsored per church is hard work unless you visit areas with a high densite of churches like Gloucester City. Why not use your fitbit and be sponsored per thousand steps for example? It is just another way to get unit sponsorship with the positive side effect of helping keep in shape and being able to prove it! Check out the link above.
We provide thousands of pounds in grants every year to maintain churches throughout Gloucestershire, but we can only do that with your continued support. Please help us continue our vital work.
