Ride+Stride 2017 has been an enormous success and we’d like to say a huge thank you to all who took part.
Right across the region people have been walking, cycling, riding and driving between churches to help raise money for GHCT. We met Martin, cycling in his 27th Ride+Stride with a team from Christchurch Abbeydale. Gloucester Cathedral was church 32 and they were planning to get round 70!
A team from the Benefice of Thornbury and Oldbury-on-Severn started their walk with Morning Prayer in the tiny tin tabernacle of St Mary, Shepperdine. They then walked via Oldbury to Thornbury for a service of Evening Prayer at the end.
Volunteers from Ecclesiastical Insurance greeted visitors at Gloucester Cathedral with delicious cakes and biscuits.
Arthur (8) and Maggie (6) visited five churches in South Gloucestershire before lunchtime.
So much goes on behind the scenes – from putting up signs and putting out refreshments, to baking cakes & welcoming riders & striders into churches – and without that help none of it would have been possible.
We’d love to feature your Ride+Stride story, so please send us any updates and pictures to email@example.com
