Whitbread Trophy awarded to young fundraiser

Congratulations to Bethany-Louise Brown, winner of the Whitbread Trophy for best under-16 performance in last year’s Ride+Stride.

GHCT’s Jim Drennan handed over the trophy during a service at St. Barnabas’ Church, Warmley.

Bethany raised £203.25, half of which will go to her nominated church, while the other half will be used by GHCT to help churches in urgent financial need.

She walked five miles between the three churches in the benefice, starting at St Anne, Syston. Others joined for part of the walk to St Barnabas, Warmley and finishing at St Mary, Bitton for a picnic lunch in the church hall.

Do you know a young person who would be interested in taking part in this year’s Ride+Stride? As well as the trophy, there’s a £50 cash prize for the under-16 raising the highest amount. For more details visit our Ride+Stride page.
