Conservation work at Cirencester
Gloucestershire has more than 600 historic churches, chapels and meeting houses. They are beautiful focal points in the landscape and many double up as community centres as well as places of worship.
Maintaining these buildings is expensive but essential if we are to continue to enjoy them. GHCT exists to help congregations looking after Christian buildings of any denomination. We fund vital repairs to the structures, their surrounding churchyards, and the fixtures and furniture inside them. We can also help with improvements such as the provision of loos and meeting areas, and installation of better heating or lighting systems.
We help churches across Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and North Bristol.
An independent, non-profit organisation, GHCT raises funds through membership, donations and legacies, and the annual Ride & Stride event.
Our grants committee meets twice a year to award funds to churches.
We publish a twice-yearly newsletter and an annual report, which is sent to our subscribers.

We provide £150,000 in grants every year to help repair, maintain and improve the churches in our region, but we can only do that with your continued support. Please help us continue our vital work.
Our Support Us page discusses some of the ways you can consider helping us. Thank you.
