With the current social distancing restrictions and the closure of places of worship, supporters of the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust will not be surprised that there is uncertainty regarding this year’s Ride+Stride event.

We are liaising closely with the National Ride+Stride committee and, taking their advice, we are  delaying preparations for 2020. As Ride+Stride is not due until September 12th we are hoping that it may still be allowed to go ahead, albeit in a revised form.  This may involve some new and creative approaches to the event this year so please do look out for our communications in the next few months and keep an eye on our website www.ghct.org.uk/ride-and-stride where we’ll also post updates.

The Trust would like to thank supporters for their help in raising over £51,000 in 2019.

With many churches facing reduced collections under the current lockdown, there has never been a more important time to donate  to the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust directly or via Ride+Stride. Maintenance and fabric repairs remain as important and urgent as ever. Wind, rain and sun have not disappeared during the crisis! By supporting and donating to the Trust, you know that your generosity will help  to keep our wonderful places of worship well-maintained and a heritage for  future generations.

In the meantime, Ray Singleton is our main contact for Ride+Stride this year.   Working with the new GHCT Communications Group, he will act as the central point for information in 2020 and can be contacted via ride-and-stride@ghct.org.uk.

Please keep safe during the current crisis and we will provide more information as and when we are able to about the plans for Ride+Stride 2020.
