Travelling Kids Club: A Free Hero‑Themed Adventure at St John's Church, Charfield

Calling all mini‑superheroes! A brand‑new event is coming to Charfield, and it’s designed especially for children who love adventures, dressing up, and solving puzzles.

The Travelling Kids Club is a free, one‑hour kids’ session created to help children explore the story of our local churches in a fun, hands‑on way – here’s what it all means.

Free Hero‑Themed Adventure

What is the Travelling Kids Club?

The Travelling Kids Club is a mission for “brave, bold and brilliant young heroes” who want to help “save our churches.”

During the session, children will:

  • Follow curious clues and mysterious trails
  • Take part in creative, hands‑on activities
  • Work together in heroic teamwork challenges
  • Make their own hero masks to wear during the adventure
  • Earn their title as Official Church Heroes

When and where is it happening?

  • Date: 10th January 2026
  • Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
  • Place: St John's Church, Charfield, GL12 8LJ

It’s a short, one‑hour session, making it ideal for younger children and easy to fit into a busy weekend.

GHCT supports historic churches across the county, helping to keep these beautiful buildings open and active for their communities. The Travelling Kids Club is one of their family‑friendly initiatives, designed to introduce children to churches in a positive, exciting way.

Who is it for?

It’s ideal for primary‑aged children.

  • Children who enjoy crafts and dressing up
  • Youngsters who like puzzles, games and trails
  • Families who want a free, local activity that’s fun and safe
  • Anyone curious about their local church, whether they attend regularly or not

Parents and carers are, of course, welcome to stay and watch their heroes in action.

Why it’s worth going

The Travelling Kids Club isn’t just another activity session; it aims to:

  • Encourage creativity through mask‑making and imaginative play
  • Build teamwork and confidence as children solve challenges together
  • Help children see churches as friendly, exciting places to explore
  • Give families a no‑cost outing right in the heart of the community

And with its bright colours, superhero theme and promise of adventure, it looks set to be a memorable morning.

How do we book?

It's free to attend, but you need to book a place.
