A Grand New Welcome: Thank You to the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust!
We are delighted to share some wonderful news with our parishioners and the wider community. If you have visited St Peter’s recently, you might have noticed a significant change to the way you enter our beautiful church.
Thanks to the incredible support and generosity of the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust (GHCT), we have successfully completed the much-needed renovation work on our church entrance.
Making Our Church Accessible to All
For some time, the PCC at St Peter’s, Framilode, has been aware that our entrance needed attention. Our goal has always been to make our church a welcoming sanctuary for everyone—whether you are a regular worshipper, a visitor exploring our history, or attending a community event. A safe, attractive, and accessible entrance is the very first step in offering that welcome.
Thanks to the GHCT grant, we were able to turn our plans into reality. The funding enabled us to carry out essential repairs and improvements that have transformed the building's approach.
A Transformation in Pictures
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case, the difference is truly striking.
- The entrance before the works, showing the areas requiring urgent attention.
- The newly completed entrance—safe, restored, and ready to welcome visitors for years to come.
- The completed work not only improves the church's safety and accessibility but also restores the dignity of its exterior. It is wonderful to see the entrance looking so smart and cared for, reflecting the pride we all feel for St Peter’s.
With Sincere Gratitude
We want to extend a massive thank you to the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust. Their dedication to preserving and improving churches across the county is invaluable. Without their financial assistance, projects like this would be incredibly difficult for smaller parishes like ours to achieve.
Grants like these ensure that historic buildings like St Peter’s remain standing not just as monuments to the past, but as active, functional spaces for the present and future.
Come and See!
We invite you to visit Framilode and see the improvements for yourselves. Whether you are joining us for a service or simply walking by the river and want to take a look at the architecture, the doors are open—and the entrance is better than ever.
Thank you again to the GHCT and to everyone in our community who supports the upkeep of our beloved church.
