Easter Egg Hunt at St Michael & All Angels, Poulton
What a wonderful way to spend Easter Wednesday!
On the morning of 1st April 2026, the GHCT Travelling Kids Club descended on the beautiful churchyard of St Michael & All Angels in Poulton, and the children did not disappoint.
Hunting, Crafting, and Running Wild
The session kicked off with the main event: an Easter Egg Hunt across the church grounds. Eyes wide and baskets at the ready, our young adventurers aged between 3 and 11 set off in search of hidden Easter eggs tucked away amongst the churchyard. It was wonderful to see children of different ages working alongside one another, sharing clues and celebrating every discovery together.
Once the hunt was complete, the children got wonderfully creative with a range of Easter craft activities. From decorated eggs to seasonal makes, there were some real works of art produced and plenty of proud faces to match!
Of course, no Travelling Kids Club session would be complete without some good old-fashioned free play. A very energetic game of Tag took over the churchyard, with children racing about in the fresh spring air and plenty of laughter echoing around the grounds.
A Special Guest Appearance
Perhaps the highlight of the morning came from an unexpected visitor, a real rabbit was spotted hopping about the churchyard! For many of the younger children, especially, this was pure magic, and a perfect Easter surprise that no amount of planning could have arranged.
A Beautiful Setting for a Special Morning
St Michael & All Angels in Poulton provided a truly lovely backdrop for the morning. The historic churchyard offered just the right mix of space, character, and charm, exactly the kind of setting that makes the Travelling Kids Club so special. Historic church grounds like this one are so much more than ancient monuments; they are living, breathing community spaces where memories like these are made.
We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and made the morning such a success. Seeing children aged 3 to 11 come together in play and creativity, in a space that has been at the heart of its community for centuries, is exactly what the Travelling Kids Club is all about.
Keep an Eye Out for Our Next Event!
The Travelling Kids Club will be on the move again soon. Watch this space for details of our next visit. In the meantime, if you missed us in Poulton, you can still take part in our self-guided Easter Egg Hunt at St John's Church, Slimbridge, running from 2nd–10th April. We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.
