We are absolutely delighted to finally reveal the winner of the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust Christmas Photo Competition!
We received so many stunning entries this festive season. From frost-covered spires to warm, candlelit naves, seeing how you captured the beauty and spirit of Gloucestershire’s historic churches during the holidays was truly heartwarming. The talent in our community never ceases to amaze us, and selecting just one winner was no easy task.
However, one image stood out for capturing that perfect winter atmosphere.

We are thrilled to announce that Trevor James is the winner of our 2025 Christmas Photo Competition.
Trevor’s winning photograph was taken at the beautiful St James Church, Churchend, Charfield, on December 20th, 2025.
The judges were particularly impressed by the composition and Trevor's capture of the serene beauty of St James. It perfectly encapsulates why we work so hard to preserve these magnificent buildings—they are stunning landmarks that look magical in every season, but perhaps especially so at Christmas.
