Bishop Viv of Bristol GHCT’s new Vice President

Not everyone knows that almost half the Bristol Diocese parishes are eligible for grants from the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust! This is because the trust covers the old historic county of Gloucestershire, which extends as far down as the River Avon, and all the way over to the Wiltshire border.

The trust were keen to make their support known to Bristol churches, and were delighted when Bishop Viv agreed to become their newest vice-president. Bishop Viv was glad to accept this honour and recently met with Colin Senior, Chair of the trust, to discuss ways in which they could work together.

Bishop Viv said “I’ve seen for myself some wonderful projects in our diocese, which have been part-funded by the trust, and we are very grateful for their generous support. As one of two lead bishops for church and cathedral buildings, I am passionate about ensuring the future of our parish churches, and excited to be working with GHCT in the future. I hope to see lots of you out and about on Sept 10th on ‘Ride and Stride Day’ which is a lovely opportunity for us all to support both our own churches and also our local historic churches trust.’
