Introduction to the Trust

Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust supports more than 600 historic churches, chapels and meeting houses in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and North Bristol with grants to help with the upkeep of church buildings. The Trust was established in 1980 and last year gave over £150,000 in grants to churches.

Their work helps to keep these buildings alive as places of worship, active centres of community life and landmarks of our architectural heritage. The Trust raise funds through membership, donations, legacies and the annual Ride+Stride event.

In order to keep making our grants, we need your help. We’d love to make bigger grants, and more of them, but can’t do that without more donations, from individuals and from churches.
